New Website Launch – 30 July 2025
The High Court of Australia will launch its new website on 30 July 2025. As part of this update, the following changes will take effect:
- New Email Alert Subscription Service– The current subscription alert service used for notification of:
• Judgment Delivery Notification
• Judgment Summaries alert
• New books List
• HCA Bulletin
will cease operation on 30 July 2025. To continue receiving email alerts please click here to subscribe to the new service.
- New Contact Number - A new 1800 contact phone number will be available on the website from 30 July 2025.
- Social Media Updates - The High Court will begin publishing the following updates on its LinkedIn page:
• Business List
• Court lists for appeals and other Full Court hearings
• Judgment notification
• Judgments and Judgment summaries
• Special leave application results
• High Court Bulletin
• Court Calendar

High Court Building
The High Court building is open weekdays 9.45am to 4.30pm.
The High Court building will be closed to the general public on Monday, 24 March until Wednesday, 26 March (inclusive). School groups with existing bookings will still be able to access the building for their visit during that time.

The High Court has issued a protocol for practitioners participating in Video Connection Hearings (PDF) (RTF)
Filing Documents Electronically
The Digital Lodgment System Portal (DLS Portal) provides for mandatory electronic lodgment of all documents filed in any case commenced after 1 January 2020. Register with a simple 3 step process of email verification, registration and approval by the Registry dls.hcourt.gov.au.
For cases commenced before January 2020 the Court issued Practice Direction No. 1 of 2020 Electronic Filing of Documents - Cases Commenced before 1 January 2020 on 20 March 2020.

Access to the High Court building is through the Level 2 entrance at the end of the ceremonial ramp.
The High Court building is open to the public from:
Monday to Friday: 9.45 am to 4.30 pm
Normal Court sitting hours are from:
10.00 am to 12.45 pm and 2.15 pm to 4.15 pm
The building is closed on public holidays. Admission to the High Court building is free of charge.
